lyrics

a head rush from the mountain air
that floods my dirty city lungs
climbed to find a higher view,
but felt my footing rush out,

like a waterfall.
(back into the basin,
just to shove my face in it all.)
i've never been so tall,
i've never felt so small,
if i had another chance would i
let it fall to the wayside?

i don't want to watch this timeless city rot,
once i left i found that home is all i've really got
and no one wants to change it,
even when the 9's start draining,

like waterfalls.
(spilling into traffic,
try not to get trapped in it all.)
we've never been so tall,
we've never felt so small,
if we had another chance would we
let it fall to the wayside?

sometimes when the sun shines,
i only see those days.
sometimes when it all unwinds,
it falls right into place.
sometimes when the sun shines,
i only see those days.

sunshine asked me 'where have you been?'
sleeping through the afternoon in my best friend's bed.
it's not a secret, it's not a lie,
we all put home behind us.
